NHS at 70: Creating a ‘People’s History’ of the NHS

NHS at 70: The Story Of Our Lives is a national programme of work supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and led by The University of Manchester.

Since 2017 we have been working across the UK with volunteers and stakeholders to capture the history of the NHS.

We are recording stories from people who worked and were cared for by the NHS since its creation in 1948. We have trained over 150 volunteers in 10 localities across the UK and recorded over 700 stories from people of all backgrounds and experience.

The stories we record will be available on our unique public Digital Archive, which can be accessed by everyone. The Digital Archive will provide a lasting resource for audiences to discover NHS history.

We are recording your NHS stories until July 2020 so please contact either myself or the project to tell us your story
